Do Better Readers Have as Much Fun Reading?

Does reading critically make you a better reader?

What does "better reader" mean?

Do you enjoy books more or less when you read critically?

Do you appreciate books more or less when you read critically?

Thanks for the link, Nancy! I enjoyed the inspirational quotes about the Power of Reading, too. I think that I'm going to have to do a follow-up post about this question of "better" vs. "more enjoyable". Thanks for contributing to the discussion on that. I thought that you made some excellent points - especially the idea that even if it's hard to read some books critically, you also get a lot more out of them than you would have otherwise. Thanks!
