Words on Wednesday: Silly Words are Popular

I never realized how popular the topic of Silly Words would be, till I started looking at my blog stats.

So for anyone looking for more silly words, I offer the following. As before, you can click on the word to hear it pronounced. I've also included my comments...

SNUFFLE (reminds me of Aloysius Snuffleupagus)

JIGGLY (especially when you add -wiggly)

POLYGON (where'd she go?)

BRATWURST (better than worst brat)

TOUCAN (but can one?)

A little story:

My mom remembers when she was five years old, the kindergarteners had to march around the room banging drums and saying, "Boom, boom, boom." My mom thought that "Boom" was too embarassing because of the way the word pushed her lips out, so she went around the room saying, "Bmm, bmm, bmm" (Say "boom" with your lips tucked over your teeth).
