Quote of the Day, 11/05/06: Memory

One of the poetic passages submitted to the contest said, "Far, far out to sea, land is only a memory." I liked that, and decided to go with memory as today's quote theme.

Pierce Harris
Memory: a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things.

Cesare Pavese
We do not remember days, we remember moments. The richness of life lies in memories we have forgotten.

Anna Mary Robertson (Grandma) Moses
A strange thing is memory, and hope; one looks backward, and the other forward; one is of today, the other of tomorrow. Memory is history recorded in our brain, memory is a painter, it paints pictures of the past and of the day.
