Quote of the Day, 11/26/06: Legacy

The poem I posted under "creative writing" today makes me think about the things we leave behind. So today's quotes are about legacy.

Sir Philip Sidney
The best legacy I can leave my children is free speech, and the example of using it.

Thomas Scott
A man cannot leave a better legacy to the world than a well-educated family.

Pericles
What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.

Nancy, you picked some great quotes today! I love the one about educating your children. I hope I'm able to do that.

Franmag, thanks for the note. I liked these today too. It's fun seeing what I can find when I type in the right search word.

My favorite today is the Pericles one. I normally omit the one-named Greeks from my quote roster, but had to include this one.
