Day starts in sunlight.
Then three thousand birds in flight
and heroes ash-white.
Then three thousand birds in flight
and heroes ash-white.

For a much better poem remembering 9/11, please take the time to read "The New Century" by Linsey Abrams here.
.
Thanks to Susan over at Chicken Spaghetti, who linked to Abrams' poem for poetry Friday.

I'm not a big fan of haiku, actually, but it seemed that fewer words were better. The more I consider, the more I like the fib form for this one....
Day
starts
sun-bright.
Three thousand
birds in final flight.
Heroes and Joe's dusted in white.
