Quote of the Day, 8/12/06

I listened to this song on my way home last night, and the lyric has been sticking with me all day. This is from an Irish folk song, "The Water is Wide."

The water is wide -- I cannot get o'er.
Neither have I the wings to fly.
Give me a boat that can carry two,
Then both shall row -- my love and I.

For some reason lately I've been thinking about Tennysson's "Crossing the Bar." I have found a photo of the original mss. but I never posted it.
