Tanga Puzzles: December 25 - December 31

Here are the daily clues for the Tanga puzzles this week. To see the hint, highlight the space to the right of the date.

I don't give away answers here, just a small hint each day to help get you started or past a rough patch. If you want stronger hints, you can check the blog on the Tanga site itself, which is chock full of spoilers.

While I avoid giving away the answers on this page, be warned that there may be spoilers in the comments to this post, so open those with care.

Good luck!

December 25: Pretty straightforward today. There's a pun involved.

December 26: There are 36 total letters and 6 clues.

December 27: When you answer all the clues on the bottom, write them down in order and see what you can see.

December 28: I struggled with this one. Do not try for brand names. Read each clue, then close your eyes and think about it.

December 29: If you look up framing square in wikipedia, and don't overthink things, this one should take shape pretty quickly.

December 30: I thought I'd get delayed by a winter storm today and not have time to Tanga, but it turns out we didn't have much more than a flurry.

December 31: The old puzzle that this one refers to was from September 20. I'll put the answer to that puzzle in the comments here. Also, one more hint that might help you see where the answers lie.

N, Can you believe how much people complain about the puzzles on the blog?? I just looked at it out of curiosity and was really shocked at the kvetching. Give me a break.

I know. I feel bad for Aaron. Maybe some of the complainers will get quiet when their puzzles get criticized.

Did you submit one?

I did.

You've got to be kidding. I don't think I could ever construct a puzzle worthy of Tanga. My brain just doesn't work like that. I agree that maybe the complaints will stop when people get their own puzzles scrutinized. Do you know yet if they're using yours? That will be SO cool. I guess that I don't care AT ALL what these puzzles are like each day - I look so forward to them and I am in awe that Aaron can have a puzzle constructed for every single day that I wouldn't dream of commenting on their "quality". My only request would be to extend the solving window to 72 hours just so you have the flexibility if you are away. We were in Lake Placid a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't sign on to Tanga. I could see the puzzles but my son had to log into my account at work and enter my answer so I could keep my perfect streak going!! Too much pressure (and my husband thinks I'm NUTS).

For 12/31 puzzle. The old puzzle answer was OPERA.

Bigger hint...

The clues may seem nonsensical, but the trick is to figure out how to get the answer you need out of each clue.

the word "salt" popped out at me immediately in los altos so I was momentarily waylayed but still solved in under two minutes for once. No one forgets good old Cleopatra!!
Happy New Year!!
