The trouble with starting a new job at the company's busiest time of the year, when that time of year happens to be December, is that it's hard to also cram in all the shopping, decorating, baking, wrapping, card-sending, and fighting off the inevitable holiday illness. Add a blog to the mix, and you are doomed doomed doomed.
I've had to remind myself of my priorities several times in the past week:
1. Family and friends
2. Job
3. Health
4. Blog
5. Reading/puzzles/games/other diversions
Notice I put Health below the job. That was a compromise, as Health wasn't even on the list before. But now that I'm getting a cold, I'm reminded that getting sick will throw the entire train off the tracks.
I can keep up a lot of my reading via audiobooks. I've got two hours of commute time every day, so I'll be very well read in short order. Puzzles, games or other diversions are the first thing to go. Then, unfortunately, I might have to cut back on blog time. Last week's experiment was to get most of my posts for the week ready on Sunday, and then just publish them each day. It worked well, but it took a good chunk of Sunday which I'm not sure I can do again this week.
So I might be a little quiet over the next few weeks. We'll see.
I'm hopeful that this will get easier after the first of the year.

Setting priorities... so important! and so hard to keep to, sometimes.
Hope your cold gets better fast!
Good luck with the new job - and we'll still be here to hang on to your every word when you've settled in !
