It's important to understand how the grid at the bottom corresponds to the clues overhead.
Hi Nancy, This was really fun wasn't it? And funny! It took me awhile to figure out how to use the grid properly. I got stuck on trying to make the obvious over/under opposite thing work. I laughed when I got the answer because I loved him!! I usually am right around the median too - interesting. I've only had one under a minute. Nope, haven't gone to Stamford but am intrigued with the possibility. The problem is every time I put my mind to actually "training" for it - i.e. timing myself constantly - I lose interest. Especially forcing myself to do Mon/Tues level puzzles strictly for time. I'm coming to the conclusion that I just don't like that aspect of crossword puzzling very much. I paid to get this years packet of puzzles and they then score them and let you know where you would've placed. I had a respectable showing so I don't maybe someday......
